This talk will be an introduction to plasma science, its applications,
and some of the work in this area at DCU.  I'll talk about some
basic properties of plasma, and explain why these properties lead
to interesting applications in general, and in particular I'll refer
to microprocessor manufacturing in the present and the possibilities
for fusion power in the future.  I'll mention some of the work that
has been done in the Plasma Research Laboratory at DCU, and describe
its relevance to the application areas.
